Acetylsalicylic Acid commonly known as aspirin is called a miracle drug; it is used for three main purposes - for bringing down fever, for preventing stroke and heart attack and for relieving pains and aches. Acetylsalicylic acid when taken during a heart attack can save a life. It prevents complications that arise after a stroke and heart attack. But there is a dark side to acetylsalicylic acid. It increases the danger of gastrointestinal bleeding and Reye’s syndrome. Acetylsalicylic acid when given to children for viral infection and fever can cause Reye’s syndrome – a deadly illness which causes the liver and the brain to swell. Some asthma sufferers are intolerant to acetylsalicylic acid; they must simply avoid taking aspirin as they become more susceptible to asthma attacks. It also causes tinnitus in people who are unable to metabolize the drug.

Other uses include being used in liquid detergents, compound fertilizer preparations etc.

Di-Sodium Phosphate is a sodium salt of orthophosphoric acid and is used as an antioxidant synergist, stabiliser and buffering agent in food. It is also used as an emulsifier in the manufacture of pasteurised processed cheese.

Garcinia Cambogia- Gambooge, a subtropical version of the Garcinia genus and native to Indonesia, is the local name for garcinia cambogia. It bears a pumpkin like yellow coloured fruit, which extract, together with the rind, is in India a curry condiment. L-Tyrosine is a proteinogenic polar amino acid, deemed not essential because it can be synthesized by the human body. As a member of the amino acid group that is being used by cells to build proteins, this building block derived its name from the Greek word tyros, which means cheese, because it was discovered in the cheese protein casein. Phosphatidylcholine - a major component of biological membranes and can be isolated from egg yolk or soy beans. This extraction of the Phosphatidylcholine is done using hexane. Phosphatidylcholine is in fact a primary dietary source of choline, an essential nutrient which can also be synthesised by the body. Phosphatidylcholine is composed of a phosphate group, 2 fatty acids and choline. The fatty acids are what make Phosphatidylcholine valuable for promoting health. Phosphatidylcholine is important because it provides the body with choline which is required for the proper metabolism of fats as well as regulating the movement of fats in and out of cells. Choline is also need to maintain cell membrane integrity. Phosphatidylcholine also increases the solubility of cholesterol and hence decreases the chances of atherosclerosis.
